Are Energy Drinks Unhealthy
There have been some who have said that in order to lose a few pounds, many have seen success by cutting out sodas or for that matter energy drinks. They tend to be high in sugar and high in calories. However, on the flipside, caffeine is one of the most commonly used ingredients in many successful diet pills. In black coffee, the calorie count is low enough that they say that it could actually help you to burn more fat. But things like cappuccinos and lattes on the other hand tend to have so many calories that you only gain weight. They do not offset each other.
When it comes to energy drinks, they tend to have around 45 or 55mg of caffeine. You generally need about 400mg to promote weight loss results. While there are sugar free alternatives, most are high in calories, much too high to be offset by even 400mg of caffeine, let alone the insufficient 55mg at most.
When you use the sugar free alternatives, you will find that they have artificial sweeteners. These can actually lead to more obesity and weight gain than sugar! They are 100X sweeter in many cases than sugar, and you will find that they trick the body into thinking that sweet taste is not associated with greater calories. Your body therefore is more likely to eat more calories, and therefore you are more likely to get sugar calories. In addition, some of them have been shown to promote potentially serious problems and you will find that those like aspartame have even been said to lead to serious problems such as cancer.
When you drink energy drinks, whether you are taking the sugar free or the regular, you are not actually getting enough caffeine to burn fat. But you are getting enough calories to cause a gain in weight and an increase in fat and caloric intake. One of the best ways to lose a few pounds is to drop things like energy drinks and sodas.
